Sports studies: Skills to identify and discuss the social and cultural significance that sport has for individuals and for society1
Unit aim:
Students will have the opportunity to:
- ‘race’ through the oceans of time, exploring origins of the Olympic Games and the ancient philosophy behind these games known as Olympism
- explore elements of the ancient Olympic Games still incorporated in the modern Olympic Games, and describe how these have changed or developed.
